Brunch Recipes: Tasty Favorites to Serve at Your Next Gathering
When planning a brunch menu, you’ll want a spread that’s easy to pull together but not boring or predictable. From quick starters to decadent desserts, these recipes will satisfy every craving.
Avocado Toast Bites with Cherry Tomatoes
Are you looking for a tasty dish to kick off your brunch menu? Avocado Bites are mini toasts topped with creamy mashed avocado and cherry tomatoes. Pass them around as an easy starter so guests can graze while you finish up the main course.
Ingredients
1 ripe avocado
8–10 small slices of crusty bread
8–10 cherry tomatoes, halved
1 garlic clove, halved
Pinch of flaky sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Juice of ½ lemon
Olive oil
Steps
Toast the bread slices on a baking sheet under the broiler or in a toaster oven until the edges turn golden.
Rub a garlic clove on each warm slice to add a subtle fragrance.
Scoop the avocado flesh into a bowl. Mash it with lemon juice, salt, and pepper until you get a slightly chunky mix.
Spread about a tablespoon of avocado mash on each toast slice. Top each with a halved cherry tomato.
Sprinkle a tiny pinch of flaky salt and a twist of pepper over each bite. Drizzle a drop of olive oil if you like.
Arrange the bites on a platter and serve.
Cheesy Ham and Spinach Quiche
If you're looking for a dish that keeps everyone full and happy until late in the afternoon, this quiche recipe is sure to deliver. A crisp pastry shell encases a creamy egg custard speckled with bits of ham and spinach. Serve these wedges alongside coffee so guests can grab a fresh slice between sips.
Ingredients
1 refrigerated pie crust (9-inch)
4 large eggs
1 cup milk or half‑and‑half
1 cup shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese
1 cup diced ham
1 cup chopped fresh spinach (stems removed)
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of ground nutmeg (optional)
Steps
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Fit the store-bought pie crust into a 9-inch quiche or pie pan.
Prick the crust's bottom all over with a fork to prevent air pockets from forming, then bake for 8 minutes.
While the crust bakes, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Then, stir in diced ham, chopped spinach, and half the shredded cheese.
Remove the crust from the oven and pour the filling mixture into it.
Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly over the top.
Bake for 30–35 minutes. Then let the quiche rest for 5 minutes before slicing into wedges.
Mixed Berry Yogurt Parfaits
For dessert, you’ll want something light to cleanse your guests’ palates. This parfait recipe layers creamy yogurt and vibrant mixed berries in clear glasses. Serve them after the main dish so the guests can enjoy a light nibble while mingling at the table. If berries are pricey or out of season, thawed frozen berries make a great alternative.
Ingredients
2 cups plain or vanilla yogurt
1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
1 cup blueberries
1 cup raspberries
1 cup granola
2 tablespoons honey
Steps
Chill four clear glasses in the fridge for at least 10 minutes.
Spoon 2 tablespoons of granola into the bottom of each glass.
Add 3 tablespoons of yogurt on top of the granola layer.
Scatter a mix of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries over the yogurt.
Repeat the process and add another 2 tablespoons of yogurt, another 3 tablespoons of berries, and a final tablespoon of granola.
Finish with a few whole berries on top and drizzle ½ teaspoon of honey.
Serve immediately or keep chilled until you’re ready to bring out dessert.
